Open University lets you enroll in regular curriculum San José State University classes on campus or online on a space-available basis in three terms each year. No formal admission to the university is required. Registration is easy–you can usually confirm your space in class at the first class meeting. You will receive credit for your course work in any of the lower division, upper division or graduate courses available to you. You may apply the credit you earn toward your degree within specific limits. Online courses are also offered.

Studies in American Language (SAL) is an intensive English language program for international students who want to improve their English skills in order to attend an American college or university. SAL provides academic classes designed to prepare you for degree programs. SAL is also recommended for those who want to improve their English skills for professional or personal reasons.

Special Session lets you earn degree credit in graduate or undergraduate classes on campus, off campus or online in fall, spring and summer terms.
